Continuing Education Credits in Veterinary Radiation Safety
This stand-alone course for professional development gives a basic knowledge of the nature of radiation and how to take diagnostic-quality radiographs. Upon successful completion, students will be radiation safety certified and qualified to take radiographs.
Students will learn to:
- Describe radiology safety protocols.
- Identify Oregon Administrative rules relevant to Radiology.
- Use time, distance, and shielding techniques to maintain radiation safety.
- Perform satisfactory veterinary radiographs.
This course is worth two college credits and 20 hours of continued education, exceeding the required 15 hours of education in veterinary radiation use and safety required by Oregon Administrative rules.
